Conformity and racism in Ponyville

“A Friend in Deed”

Season 2 episode 18

This has to be one of the most ‘intense’ episodes of the series, exploring its central problem with an outstanding effort in both honesty and creativity.

a) the intro sequence: bonding time for the creators and the audience [link]
b) the narrative [link]
c) the true and the fake smile of Pinkemina Diane Pie [link]
d) privilege and racism [link]
e) and what about the show itself? [link]

EDIT: Okay so I'm not going to show you right away how long this actually is. You can start to find out here [link] . I still need to warn you though that it adds up to a really long (autism is magic) essay about cartoon ponies drawn for "8 year old girls" as someone was so kind to point out. For those actually going on (!) you might want to keep up a window with the episode streaming or simply with this picture so you can compare the references I make.
